  3. Re: rollercoaster tycoon 2 scenarios unlimited attractions by shinorama at 4/1/12 6:55:34 AM i think if your creating own scenario here, you can add almost all of it. But that would be only RCT2 you wont be able to have it all if you added any of the 2 expantions to it.

OpenRCT2 is a free open-source remake of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. The developers have taken the original game, decompiled it and eventually rewrote everything. This allows developers to extend the gameplay, alter the game, and even port the game to other platforms. At this moment, the game is playable on Windows, Linux, macOS and Android.

All scenarios have a 'climate'. Climate is a combination of typical Rainfall and typical Temperature. Rainfalls can be either Dry or Wet. Temperatures can be either Normal or Cold. Dry climates have little rain, so if you plant flowers, you must hire a Handyman to keep the watered or they will die. Wet climates usually have sufficient rain to keep flowers alive without supplemental watering. In Wet climates, consider building some of your big, outdoor rides, partly or completely underground {s}. Shade will help guests cope with high temperatures in a Normal climate, as will cooling scenery (such as Jumping Fountains) and certain shops (such as Lemonade Stall). Certain shops (such as Coffee Shop) will help guests cope with low temperatures in a Cold climate.

Weather is dynamic and constantly changing, and the current weather conditions are displayed in the lower righthand corner of the screen (the 'sun' icon predicts rain/shine, and the temperature is measured in degrees). Rain will most often occur in the Spring and Fall {s}, while the highest temperatures will occur in Summer.

When it rains, some guests will stop riding outdoor rides, many will quickly head for 'covered' rides, and a few will head for the park exit {s}. Every guest will open an umbrella if they own one, and many will quickly try to acquire one (and will pay much higher prices for them then they would when its not raining {s}). Watch for the little cloud that appears on the 'sun' icon, as it will provide you with a warning that rain is imminent.

Scenarios

All scenarios are stored in the 'Scenarios' directory, and are dynamically indexed in the 'sc.idx' file. Only five 'unfinished' scenarios of each category will be available at any one time. A focussed player who pauses the game very little, can finish a typical scenario in about 3 hours. Achieving the scenario's stated goal within a specified time, is all that is required to 'win' a scenario (and there are literally hundreds of ways to acomplish the 'win'). It is a good policy to view the Park Objective every now an then, because it is easy to become engrossed in park minutiae and forget the Scenario's goal {s} (the Park Objective can be accessed at any time from the Park Information Window). Even if you fail to 'win', most scenarios can continue to be played past the end point. You do not have to play scenarios in any particular order, and you can delay playing scenarios indefinately. The 'score' of a 'won' scenario is kept however, so if you play the scenario again, you must beat the previous score in order to 'win' the scenario again (winning consists of hand-clapping by all your guests, releasing of any balloons carried by your guests, and a recording of your score).

Some scenarios may include 'handicaps'. The hadicaps are: Land Modification prohibited; Tree Removal prohibited; High Construction prohibited; Advertising prohibited; and Admission always free.

There are twenty-one Original Scenarios, stored in the files 'sc0.sc4' - 'sc20.sc4'.

There are thirty Corkscrew Follies Scenarios, stored in the files 'SC40.SC4' - 'SC69.SC4'.

Coaster

There are thirty Loopy Landscapes Scenarios, stored in the files 'SC22.SC4' - 'SC31.SC4' and 'SC80.SC4' - 'SC99.SC4'.

There are three official 'Real' Park Scenarios, stored in the files 'Alton1.SC4', 'BPB1.SC4', and 'HEIDE.SC4'.

There are two official Extra Scenarios. One is stored in the file 'Fort1.SC4'. The other (Mega Park) is stored in the file 'SC21.SC4', which is created by the game upon compleating all 21 original scenarios.

Three official 'Extra' scenarios were offered as part of magazine promos:

RCTOA Acres (rctoa.SC4) [slot #100]
Your objective: Have Fun!

Saved Games (including the Steve Franks collections)

Unlocking Scenarios

This 'RCT-acCeSS' utility lets you permanently 'crack' the RCT Scenarios so that ALL of them are available at ANY time. An 'undo' function also lets you reset scenario progress to the way that the game's developer intended. Additionally, if you need a 'sandbox' to practice your RCT skills, the program can crack open JUST the RCT Mega Park.

Alternatively, you can download to your 'Saved Games' directory these 'almost finished' saved games gathered from the internet ('SavesOriginal.zip, 'SavesCF.zip, 'SavesLL.zip 'SavesReal.zip, and 'SavesExtra.zip), that you can use to WIN (and therefore make always available) any/all of the games official scenarios. Many are worth examining for good ideas to use in your own parks. Note that the Mega Park will be created for you by the game only after first compleating all of the Original scenarios.

Most of these Saved Games are only a few moments from compleation, and all you have to do is wait. A few require you to open one of the CLOSED rides in order for the scenario to complete. Once you WIN a scenario, the saved game can be deleted. Note that if you choose to again play any WON scenario, your own WIN will only be officially recorded if you exceed the score of the previously WON scenario.

Creating Scenarios

There is no mechanism within the game to modify a Saved Game or create a Scenario. For a long time the only way for a player to create a 'pseudo-scenario' was to take a standard scenario (Razor Rocks was poplular), change the landscaping by spending money, then release the final 'workbench' as a 'Saved Game' (SV4 file).

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 Scenarios Download Utorrent

Just prior to the release of RCT2, the 'RCT Save Game Modifier' utility was created. This utility allows you to create new SV4 files with random terrain. It is also allows you to save a file as a true SC4 Scenario file (they will appear under a new tab called 'Competitions'). Custom scenarios created this way must use one of the slot numbers originally reserved for the official Hasbro Interactive competition scenarios (i.e., scenario slot numbers 100-127).

Tip: When creating a custom scenario, it is good practice to include in the scenario name the scenarios slot number (i.e.: 'sc123.sc4', etceteras). This way a player will know exactly what slot is being used just by looking at the file name. Typically slot #101 is used.

The late release of the SGM utility is why there are so few Fan created Scenarios. Also, as Scenarios must must be given one of the only 28 available 'slot numbers', and as each slot number MUST be unique (placing two SC4 files in the 'Scenarios' directory that use the same slot numbers will crash the game until you remove the offending files), you are limited to the number of Fan made Scenarios you can keep simultiniously inside your 'Scenarios' directory. There is no limitation on the other hand to the number of Saved Games you may have (as long as their SV4 file names differ that is).

Tip: Create a special storage directory to hold ALL of your Fan created Scenarios inside. Then, prior to starting RCT, move just ONE of these Scenarios into your 'Scenarios' directory. When you are finished with this Scenario, simply move the file back out into the storage directory. In this manner, you will never have any problems with too many simulatnious Fan Scenarios or conflicting slot numbers.

This handy viewer utility called 'RCT Explorer' allows you to view the parameters of a 'Saved Game' or a 'Scenario' without having to launch them inside RCT (i.e., park name, scenario goal, starting money, etceteras). This viewer is particularly useful for Fan created Scenarios, as it allow you to view the 'slot number' used by the Scenario, and thereby prevent potential slot number conflicts.

Custom Scenarios can be just plain sandboxes, but the real advantage of being able to create custom scenarios is to actually create 'Scenarios', with specific goals and limitations (just like the ones that came with the game). An example (available for the RCT2 game only unfortunately) would be the scenario I created for the UCES Project. A reading of the description for this scenario is a good lesson in how to make a Scenario exciting to play.

RCT3
Soaked!
Wild

I started playing RCT3 Dec. 6th 2004...

haha... but before before I could play, I 'had to' buy a new computer. :) oops. My family said my new machine was just an expensive video game system - hehe - its really much more.

I love, love, love my new computer, (1gb RAM/nvidia geforce 5700/AMD64) but adjusting to the new RCT game, was difficult. I am having fun with it, I must say... I have played & finished all of the official RCT3 scenarios, and the Soaked and Wild scenarios... many of them twice!

The 'Soaked' water park expansion pack is great! I'm glad they are actively fixing bugs in the game. (make sure you update your game with the updater that installed with the game - it really helps) ... The Wild expansion pack brings fun animal challenges, 18 more flat rides, and more gameplay improvements.

PROS: Riding the coasters - really fun stuff
--- I also really love the 'auto complete' feature.
--- I havent seen a broken bench since I installed rct3, and I still never hire security guards
--- I love seeing my parks at night-time
--- I love all the new flat rides & unique new rollercoasters, do they really exist in real life? I'm not sure
--- Janitors don't mow the lawns anymore - wahoo!!

CONS: Lately, RCT3 has been crashing way too much. Sometimes I only get to play 2 hours, or 10-20 minutes before the crash. Very frustrating. Also - you can't place 1/4 tile scenery up against track curves - annoying. We don't have themed restrooms anymore (why not?) ...

I used to hate that my peeps would complain when I mixed theming. I think they removed this complaint in the 'Soaked' expansion. I could understand if I got 'mixed-up' or 'odd' or 'eclectic' comment from guests, but messy? ummm no. snake lamps are cool in a spooky-theme park ...sheesh.

The soaked & wild expansion packs fixed some problems from the original release of RCT3 - I highly recommend them

New - February 2007 - Two new scenarios.
Both require soaked and wild expansion packs. ... Sorry there are no screenshots, for some reason I couldn't get them to save... hmm... anyway, After taking a few months off from playing RCT, I got back into it, played a few downloaded scenarios from other websites, a few good, but mostly they are complete parks with insane goals. These parks have plenty of room to build, and I had fun playing them. I hope you do too :)

...My first several home-made rct3 scenarios were unplayable.
I get weird issues like paths & rides that won't match up, trams that stop running with no breakdown or warning, or 1/2 my peeps that won't cross through the park gate...
It took me a while to build good scenarios, but I finally have a few that work :)

I have completed, and 'won' all of these parks... in slightly earlier versions... they needed small adjustments before I could post them.
Play them - and let me know what you think!!!

Also, I need advice about fireworks ... I haven't taught myself how to use the mixmaster, and I really should... I've even tried downloading other peoples firework shows, only to have them crash my machine... let me know if you have any tricks :-)

I don't see some of the classic names, like where is Melanie Warn,
so I'm not convinced that this is a complete list, but it's a very good start -- Nancy

RENAME A PEEP TO ACTIVATE THESE CHEATS

Cheat Codes are all case insensitive.
... you can often rename several peeps with the same name by varying the case like melanie warn and Melanie warn and melAnie warn

Beware; there is no confirmation on cheat activation - once you rename someone, its done.

Wild!:

Rabbit - Animals Constantly Breed - Should make your animals reproduce very quickly, like rabbits... unlike developers... !
Alvin Swazonegger - Allow Large Billboard Movies
Jurassic Dart - No idea
Soaked! and higher:
M Brookes - Enables you can place wall pieces and other scenery items on the edge of path tiles.
Alistair Lindsay - alters the speed at which some sound effects are played at pause, fast and fastest.
Rick Griffiths - changes the inside of a tunnel from rubble to sharks on both sides, the ceiling and the floor.
Mornington Crescent - This allows building shops etc underground (use SHIFT to lower an object's position until it is say, level with an underground path).
David Walsh - This allows removal of the user interface (ie all the icons, menus etc) using CTRL-U once the cheat is active. This is great for taking screen shots. Press CTRL-U again to get the user interface back.
v2 Final Patch OR Higher:
Isambard Kingdom Brunel - Trains Staff (Costs you about $1000 plus the total cost needed to fully train all of your Staff Members)
v1a Final Patch OR Higher:

Isambard Kingdom Brunel - Trains Staff (Costs you about $1000 plus the total cost needed to fully train all of your Staff Members)
FPS - Displays an Frames Per Second counter.
v1a Beta Patch OR Higher:

Ghost Town - Will stop the flow of peeps coming into your park. This seems irreversible and the only way to disable it is to shut down the game fully.
Andrew Thomas - decreases track friction, which can make coasters go faster along their tracks
David Braben - Disable the Lift Chain Speed & Launch Speed limits. Normally, you are not permitted over a set speed limit. Usage: Select a coaster. Select 'Operating Mode'. You must have 'Powered Launch' selected to alter the Launch Speed.
Andrew Gillett - Unknown effect (On the first Career mission, this code will double the value rating of your park - which will complete your first mission objective. On other tested missions, it seems to possibly cause a slight increase in park value too)
v1.0 Retail or Higher:

John D Rockefeller - Increase your money by $10,000
Chris Sawyer - Cheer (Lp) - All guests applaud you & Jump into the air
Mouse - They follow the mouse cursor. They start off looking at the ground because the cursor is at the bottom of the screen. Wave it around a bit and the peeps watch! (credit:mrbdamien)

Guido Fawkes - Enables the 'Advanced firework editor'. Usage: Scenery -> Firework Mixmaster -> Fireworks Displays -> Add firework display -> Advanced firework editor.
Atari - Cheer (Fade) - All guests applaud you
James Hunt - You are given a buggy vehicle to ride in - exit coastercam and delete as scenery when done
D Lean - Open the 'Flying Camera' routes editor - You can also use CTRL-SHIFT-0 (the number zero) For more info click here .
A Hitchcock - Hitchcock - not sure what this does (could be related to the birds like Alfred's movie)
PhotoStory - unknown code
ATITech - Every Person (both guests & staff) move super fast, though the game time passes at normal speed (rides & coasters do not speed up) (Expires after 20 seconds)
Make Me Sick - All guests become Sick and vomit immediately (Repeat it to make the park insanely dirty - watch them handymen run)
Jonny Watts - PeepCam (see the world through the eyes of the guest who you just renamed)
Atomic - Causes 'nuke' shockwaves on coaster crashes.
Shifty - Makes the peeps dance
John Wardley - No Coaster Height Limit (ride & coaster tracks can be built without height limitations)
Frontier Unbreakable (Buildings/Rides/Coasters do not break down any longer)
Jon Roach - Ride All Rides (make all guests ride every parkride before leaving the park) OR, it may just make guests ignore their nausea rating
Sam Denney - Ride All Coasters (make all guests ride every park coaster before leaving the park) OR, it may just make guests ignore their nausea rating
